While he was studying at the University in Monterrey, Evelid Melo was invited to a meeting at the Great Commission Church, at the same time he started attending the small group meetings. He continued to come weekly attracted by the practical way that they presented God, after a while Evelid accepted Jesus as his personal savior.
In the next 3 years Evelid kept attending the Great Commission Church in Monterrey, getting involved in different ministries, small groups and he also became a small group leader. In 2012 Evelid started considering to move back to his hometown, Chicontepec, Veracruz, where most of his family lived. It was then that God placed in his heart the will to start a church there. After a year of planning and preparing in March 2013 Evelid moved to Chicontepec, a month later he started a small group and his family joined him.
